Hadith 35 - Muslim itu Saudara

Bismillah,

In the current mood, and in the process of, inshaAllah, memorizing hadiths, (dengar byk2 kali sambil2 belajar for finals)

so here's another, Hadith 35 of 40 of Imam Nawawi's compilation of Rasulullah's (saw) hadith,

Daripada Abu Hurairah r.a. beliau berkata: Rasulullah SAW telah bersabda:

Janganlah kamu saling dengki mendengki, tipu menipu, benci membenci, belakang membelakangi antara satu sama lain.

Janganlah sebahagian kamu menjual barangan atas jualan orang lain.

Brotherhood (Xifu...

As we try to memorize the hadith, let's get into the hadith itself,

The first action that the hadith forbids is envy (al-hasad). Muslim scholars like Imam Ghazali and others define envy as disliking to see a person receiving a bounty and wishing that he or she (the receipient) would lose it.

Ibn Rajab says that this hadith is a warning to Muslims not to hate one another, especially if it is because of self-interest. Why? Because Muslims are brothers in Islam. They should love each other and should not hate one another. Consequently, al-nameemah, backbiting and slander are forbidden because they will lead to hatred among the Muslim community. Ibn Rajab says that when the Muslims started dividing into different sects because of conflicting views regarding certain religious matters, this led to disputes and hatred among the community, and thus disunity.

Why is envy (hasad) forbidden?

It can cause - by the permission of Allah - harm to others whom are envied. Consequently, they are considered as evil acts in Islam. They can cause - even by just wishing - the harming of a person. It is the virtue of Shaitan. And it is also the virtue of Jews to envy other people. This is mentioned in Surah al-Baqarah, Ayah 109 and in Surah al-Nisa', Ayah 54.

The Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, warned Muslims against envy when he said

"Creeping upon you is the diseases of those people before you: envy and hatred. And hatred is the thing that shapes. I do not say it shapes the hair but it shapes the religion.

By the One in whose Hand is my soul, you will not enter paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another.

Certainly, let me inform you of that which may establish such things: spread the greetings and peace among yourselves."

[Recorded by Imam Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi]

Since this is a harmful act, Muslims are asked to recite certain Qur'anic verses such as Surah al-Falaq, Surah an-Nas, and Surah al-Ikhlas to protect from envious people. According to the Muslim scholars, it would be preferable to recite them after the five prayers along with Ayat-ul-Kursi.

"All things of a Muslim are inviolable for another Muslim: his blood, his property, and his honour."

This important last statement, which was mentioned by the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, in his farewell sermon (hajat alwadaa'), concludes or summarises what this hadith is about. This hadith clearly states that harming others either by saying or doing is considered an evil act. Allah says:

And those who annoy believing men and women undeservedly, they bear on themselves the crime of slander and plain sin.
[Surah al-Ahzab: Ayah 58]

Allah made the believers as brothers so that they have mercy upon one another; so that they love one another; so that they help one another and support one another.

This is how Muslims should be.

wa'alaykum,

Finals

Bismillah,

Hadith 40

Daripada Ibnu 'Umar r.a beliau berkata :

Rasulullah saw memegang bahuku seraya bersabda :

Ibnu 'Umar r.a pernah berkata :

And words can never really help you say
what you want them to anyway.
And words can never really help you see,

Admit the Past, Change the Future

Bismillah,

A new year,
A new beginning,

reflect back,
and compass check !

inshaAllah.

Apakah hadis terakhir tu ?"

Setiap teka-teki membawa personality pengaju nye bukan ? :)

Rasanya setiap peserta yg pulang drp Muktamar masing2 mendapat 'something' yg berbeza, because each and everyone of us are different and some things effects others more.

Tapi, ilmu sepatutnya dipelajari dgn hati bukan ? Jadi, walaupun tanpa notes, sepatutnye masih ingat lagi.. :)

InshaAllah, nak share beberapa jotted down notes berkaitan :

A Quranic Perspective of Understanding the Problems of the Ummah

Imam Yahya Hendi's :
- what made Muslims they way they are now ?
-Tauhid Paradine (shape by Tauhid & islam) :
1) politics of justice - everyone has a room on the table, minority cannot be left behind
2) economics of equality - everyone has to be acknowledged for what they do, have access to sources
3) covenant of community - the muslim ummah needs to feel connected

Dr Ismail Farouqi's : Diseases of Ummah :
1) poverty
3) depend on others
4) double standard
5) blind imitation of the past
6) extremism in the way of practising islam

Bro Farizal's : Problems of Ummah :
1) away from Quran and Sunnah
2) lack of trust to islam (and fellow muslims)
3) wahan (love the temporary life and hate the hereafter)
4) taqlid
5) not united
6) drawback in science and technology

Ustaz Syamsi Ali's : Problms facing the ummah :
1) musykulah (?) - faith problem : alWahan
2) intellectual problem - 'fadiah fi takfiyah'(?) causes taking religion partially
3) responsibility & participation
4) spiritual problem - most muslims are more concerned abt physical health
5) fail to actualize our values
6) fail to anticipate changes

IIT talks

- there is a purpose of being here (in the States) and a purpose of going back

5) political participation
6) cultural integration / assimilation

critical issues :
1) separation of Church & State - to protect religion, not to separate

3) customs as a source of law

Terms
of Fiqh alAqaliyyat :
- common good - syariah of Allah (compliment each other)
- objective of intent of law
- convenience
- common practice
- necessity - when there is a need, there is always a way to achieve
- prevention of harm - if it harms other, not syariah

First time, masuk mmg riuh rendah 'madrasah' tu, dgn tawaan2 riang kanak2 kecil nih.

Semesta Bertasbih ...

Akhir kalam, sbg peringatan bg diri sendiri especially, bila nak sampaikan ilmu2 yg kita peroleh, kena make sure yg kita pun buat apa yg kita cadangkan org lain buat, kan ?

Wallahu 'alam.
