and it's one of the big ones!
This confrerence's gonna be one of MSA's big event this year and there's also going to be IAW( Islam Awareness Week) which will be held after spring break.
I was quite suprise to see some if the flyers were taken down.
Isn't the u.s a free country where people could practise their freedom of speech and were open minded in these kinda things.
I wonder.
Anyway, I have a digital logic test tomorrow, and a mse quiz and another math quiz on friday. There's also gonna be a Middle Eastern Festival this coming Thursday. I was invited, as everyone else was.
Anyway, it's gonna be Spring break in a couple of days. Yay!

Oleh sebab ingin meningkatkan penguasaan dalam bahasa Inggeris dengan niat kerana Allah, saya cuba bergiat aktif dalam MSA. Alhamdulillah semuanya berjalan lancar. Practise english conversations there. Fortunately Emad(the MSA pres) remembers my name. yay!
One of the activity that will be held this week is Harun Yahya's Conference. Or more like his students talk. The Return of Jesus.
the flyer blitz was last night. They made posters and some flyers were posted on info boards. I was incharge of Branscomb. I didn't post all of them yet though. Just in case some of them was taken down, the rest is gonna be pinned up..sometime soon?
And I'm selling calendars in February at the booth! Do stop by.

Many fish congregate in groups called schools. A school is a group of similarly-sized fish of the same species aligned and swimming in the same direction. Sight seems to be the primary means of maintaining the school. The lateral line may also be used.
It's just that, sometimes I feel like studying digital logic like 'schooling', just following what other people are doing and not having the slightest idea of how to start. I mean, I know how to do it when someone explains the question, but in an exam, that particular someone won't be there to explain. You'll have to figure it out yourself.
So, how did I end up here in the first place?
Have I been 'schooling' all this long? Nope. Only in digital logic.
Oh, and remember the movie finding nemo, there's this current that the fish and all those other sea creatures used to get into and they'll end up somewhere quite far from where there started.

"A burden? I don't think it's a burden."
"I'm sorry. The responsibility."
That was the turning point for me to think of Islam, from another perspective. I was asked with questions, and I had to find answers. I thought that I knew Islam well and could explain it in detail, with confidence to the questionier.
But I was wrong. I wasn't prepared. I should have been. I couldn't explain it well enough. I thought I was fluent in english. I was wrong, I couldn't find the proper words to explain them. Writing is okay, but saying? Talking? Cakap spontan? Dalam bahasa Melayu boleh lah. Ni english. Ish.Having an english conversation. I lacked those. I really do lack having english conversations. You may think its weird for a student who's studying overseas not speaking english well. But, it's just that.. it's hard to explain.
So how would I do daawah if I can't even speak english well? Stating the truth, holding up my beliefs.
It's time I change.
Getting away from the comfort zone towards the reality.

It's been quite some time since I've updated this blog. Very sorry indeed.
Been busy? Yes. But that shouldn't be an excuse for not writing.
I've been doing some thinking. Reflecting. Observing.
There's things I like to share, there's thing I like to keep secret.
Sometimes I'm unsure, sometimes I'm over-confident.
I'm trying to improve.

The Pencil Parallabel
In the beginning, the Pencil Maker spoke to the pencil saying,
"There are five things you need to know before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and you will become the best pencil you can be."
1) You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand.
2) You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but this is required if you are to become a better pencil.
3) You have the ability to correct any mistakes you might make.
4) The most important part of you will always be what's inside.
5) No matter what the condition, you must continue to write. You must always leave a clear, legible mark no matter how difficult the situation.
The pencil understood, promising to remember, and went into the box fully understanding its Maker's purpose.
Now replacing the place of the pencil with you; always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.
1) You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God's hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.
2) You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.
3) You will be able to correct mistakes you might make or grow through them.
4) The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.
5) On every surface you walk, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to serve Allah in everything.

Radiata Story or My Story?

Anyway, as I was searching for the Physics Lab for the first physics experiment, last week, I lost myself in the Stevenson Building which made me late for lab that day. Imagine, playing rpg games, there's always a map right either at the top left or right corner, I was thinking like that that day. Recalling back where the lab suppose to be and my position in the map. I was like an arrow on the map, running through flight of stairs to get to the top. Well, that's one part of it.
Radiata Stories, is like a recruitment rpg game where you can recruit people from various places around Radiata Castle and invite them to join your team and accomplish missions. There's a Preist Guild (healers), Magic Guild (magicians), Theif Guild (theifs and mugglers), Swordsman Guild (which i was in).
Vanderbilt has a medical centre, so as I was walking back from Subway that day, I saw a couple of doctors and nurses at the medical centre. (obviously they're working there). But they just reminded me of the Preist Guild in Radiata Stories. Seriously it did, and I could even imagine how it was back then when I entered the Guild to recruit a healer..
Radiata Stories was an easy game, and a bit childish too, I guess.

When things seem difficult and life uphill,
Don't look too far ahead, keep plodding on
Inch by inch, the road will shorten
Till the rough patches be past and gone;
and you'll look back suprised and delighted to find,
that you have left so many miles behind.
Very soon the tedious climb will stop
and you'll stand triumphant at the top.

The Gun in the Arsenal to attack our misunderstanding in the value of this life and the hereafter would be :
The bullets of tafakur :
- disattachment in this life
- eagerness for the hereafter
I asked a question about insecurities in self to Bro Fadhi, our usrah naqib. What are we suppose to do when in an undecided state? Constantly, of little things in life.
Sounds familiar?
I just realized that I wasn't the only one having that problem. Bro Fadhi did too, when he was in college(which he majored in maths btw). Well, what he said was maybe it's because of the age, so don't worry too much. When you grow older, and by experience you'll know what to do. Yup, he didn't seem to give an answer, only : not to worry. You'll grow up and you'll solve it yourself.
He told us about when he was in college, he was undecided if he wanted to major in maths. He was so undecided but he seemed to have graduated (excellently, i presume) in maths. So he said that he must have done something right after all. He was undecided in marriage, but he decided on something that was right and alhamdulillah has a 19 year old marriage with his wife and was gifted with children. The thing is if your undecided in petty things ( for me would be: either to study at the library or at my room? argh..undecided!); which I seem to have the problem, just do one thing or the other. InsyaAllah, it will turn out right.
Undecided in major things? Istikharah would be the answer. =)
Saying about istikharah, I just wanted to express my happiness(by words) of having my own toolbox! What's the connection eyh? funny.
I had this undecisiveness in my major last year. Mech eng or EE? Well, I did solat istikharah and one morning, I woke up and said to Azni : Nak major EE! Enough said. Well, I was sure with my true hearts calling when I opened the toolbox at the lab today(well, yesterday act). Ahh..my very own. I know this seems weird, but the solder, screwdriver, wire cutter etc were like ..ahh...*smiling*. I named my black toolbox : Squall. A character in FF8 and one of my heroes too. The gamer in me can't be rubbed off. It's still there I guess. Retired gamer? Never! Well, maybe not yet. But just taking a break. =)

If you have too much pride, you're arrogant.
So, be in the middle. "
